What about the Baptism of Young Children?

By Wayne Jackson

"A young child (in this case, seven years old) wants to be baptized because he heard his mother say that those who are not baptized cannot go to heaven. He is an intelligent little boy with a wonderful, pure heart, and he cried when he heard his mother say what she did. He is serious about this issue and keeps bringing it up. When he is not in a serious mood, he acts like a typical seven-year-old kid, getting into anything and everything. How should a child like this be counseled on this subject?"

No More Hypocrites

By John Gipson

I dare you to show me a hypocrite. You can't do it. In just one generation we have witnessed the death of hypocrisy. It has been wiped out. And much of the credit goes to the young people. They have seen it in their parents, they have detected it in business, and have scorned it in government. Their plea has been, "Tell it like it is" and hypocrisy has been slain in the States.

Adult Education Classes

Numbers
Danny Morris
Room 203

This book relates the fulfilling of God's promise to Abraham that his seed would be as the stars of heaven. There were two numberings of the children of Israel, one at mount Sinai (chapter 1) and the other in the plains of Moab thirty-nine years later (chapter 26).  The book is almost equally divided between history and the laws.

Galatians
Chuck Drum
Room 204

The apostle Paul successfully established the church in Galatia during his first missionary journey (45 AD). After his departure, Jewish teachers tried to require the people to keep the law of Moses, in particular, the practice of circumcision. The Galatians has been called the Magna Charta of Christian Liberty and it calls us to a new life by the grace of God. The class will stress our freedom in Christ.  Legalism is not law keeping, but is law dependant.  This message is pertinent to our age.  We will see a balanced approach to the freedom we have in Christ.

What is a Restoration Church?
Art Edwards
Room 206

Our quest is not to discover what the restoration movement was, but to gain an understanding of what it is, and even more importantly, to look at what it ought to be.

Seed Principle
Morgan Gray
Room 202

This is a down-to-earth study for getting control or our lives by drawing inspiration from the parable of the sower.  We will identify everyday obstacles we all face when trying to influence other people and learn what is needed to sharpen our own spirituality.

Wednesday Only

Spiritual Heritage
Bert Paddock
Fellowship Hall

Have you ever wondered how we arrived to where we are?  What is the restoration movement?  Was it really necessary?  What started the whole movement and why the splits?  Is it still relevant? What is our role?  I really struggle with terms like tradition, restoration, and unity in such a divided kingdom.  Come take a journey to rediscover our spiritual heritage as it has been handed down to us; where does the journey go from here?
