Reopening Update

Resuming Our In-Person Bible Classes

Hello Church Family,

We’ve been meeting for Sunday morning (10am) worship in a limited fashion since June 14th.

As of September 13th, we will add Sunday morning in-person Bible classes (children & adults). Bible classes begin at 9:00am with our main worship assembly following at 10:00am.

Children’s classes will have check-in, screening desks in the Parlor and Fellowship Hall areas.

Adult classes will be offered in the Fellowship Hall and the Auditorium. Check the bulletin for topics/teachers. Adult Bible classes will make use of socially distanced seating.

Please plan to arrive early so that we all have time to enter while maintaining safe distancing.

Please use good judgment and caution when you consider joining us. The best medical information we have from the CDC & TDH, is that individuals 65 and over or those with asthma, chronic lung, liver disease, severe obesity, severe heart conditions, or who are immunocompromised, should not attend at this time. Also, very important: Please do not come if you’ve not felt well at any time in the two days prior or have a pending COVID-19 test.

We realize that while many of us are comfortable with returning to large-scale gatherings, others of us may decide to wait and continue worshiping on-line for a few more weeks. We will live-stream our worship at 10:00am on Sundays. NOTE: We will not stream any of our in-person Bible classes.

The worship live-stream video will be on the Internet via our “MCOC Streaming” Facebook group. If you’re a church member with Internet access and are not a member of this group, please search for it and request to join. Also, for any who will be worshiping from home, there will be communion pick up and contribution drop off under the portico entrance of the Outreach Center near the white house on Sunday from 9-9:50am.

We recommend wearing masks while you are entering and exiting the building.

For health reasons, water fountains will be unavailable in this phase of our reopening. However, bathrooms will be open. Please remember to wash your hands.

Please use the hand sanitizer provided in wall-mounted units in the hallways.

We’ll all be tempted to shake hands and hug, however, we encourage you to maintain a safe distance (6ft). Families, please keep together.

At worship time, on your way into the auditorium, there will be tables set up with pre-packaged communion cups. Please have one family member go to the tables to get a plastic bag and pick up enough pre-packaged communion cups for the members in your family. Then proceed to the auditorium.

We will sit every other row in the auditorium – 6ft between families, couples and single people. Please do not sit in rows/areas that have been taped-off.

As the health situation warrants, we will continue to adjust our health & safety measures after reopening.

We’re looking forward to safely seeing your smiling faces again!

Your shepherds
